The Counseling Office provides students with responsive services, support systems, guidance curriculum and individual planning. The guidance curriculum includes group and classroom activities that are grade level appropriate for middle school students. The individual planning consists of personal graduation planning and any academic concerns. Responsive services involve mediations, attendance, and parent concerns. Support system incorporates administrative and teachers' collaborations, team meetings, and TAKS information.
Our students can be referred to counseling by teachers, administrators, parents or themselves. They should be encouraged to contact Counselors for help with their questions and problems by filling out a Help Slip in the classroom. These help slips are placed on the attendance clip. Our office aides will bring them to our office. Counselors will request students to come to the counseling office with an office pass. Only in case of an emergency should students be sent to the counseling office.
