2012 NBA 'PIZZA BASH' CELEBRATION
Students with perfect attendance for the second semester were invited to a Pizza Bush celebration. Students were treated to pizza and other goodies. The event included a fashion show presented by the FCCLA club, watermelon contest and a raffle. The grand prize for the raffle was a computer netbook. Congratulations Perfect Attendance Flyers!

National Junior Honor Society Spring Induction
The National Junior Honor Society was established in 1929. The purpose is to recognize and honor students who have achieved high scholastic marks and have shown outstanding character development. In order to become a member, a student must have a semester overall grade point average of 90 or above, overall good conduct, and the recommendation of the faculty. Students qualifying in the Spring Semester in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade were inducted at the PAC.

Kitty Hawk PTSO Sponsor 5K Run/Walk
The Kitty Hawk PTSO hosted our Annual 5K Run/Walk for Education and Spring Carnival. All proceeds raised will go directly back to the students. The PTSO continue to support and provide an excellent learning environment for our students. Volunteers, business sponsors, and vendors helped and supported this event. Fun was enjoyed by all.

Free Summer Reading Programs for Kids 2012
Book Adventure - Sylvan offers this FREE reading incentive program. Basically the student reads books and then takes a simple comprehension quiz to make sure they understood what they read. The quiz is usually about 10 questions long. They earn points based on how much they remember from reading the book.
There are hundreds of books to choose from in all reading levels. These are common books that can be found at your local library. Once they have earned enough points they can trade them in for some really neat prizes!

How to subscribe to RSS Feeds:
In order to subscribe to an RSS feed you will need two things, an RSS reader (also known as a news aggregator) and url (web address) of the RSS feed that you wish to subscribe.
» Download and Install a News Aggregator / RSS Reader - or use a RSS-enabled browser.
» Locate the web address (url) of the RSS feed (XML file) that you wish to subscribe - usually you can just click on the
orange XML or
RSS button.
» Many of the news readers will allow you to set the interval that the software will look for a feed update others simply update daily.
» The information in the feed will be updated when the feed contains new content.
You can choose to subscribe to the entire site RSS feed (ALL Feeds), or an individual feed found on each tab.
A news aggregator or RSS reader is a software application that collects and displays news headlines and summaries from sources that you have designated. An RSS feed is an XML document that contains the news headlines and summaries.
