Candlewood 5th grade students showed stewardship for the earth while making connections to concepts learned in science. Students explored the human impact on the natural world at the micro and macro level. It gives us great pleasure to announce that Mrs. Melissa Aleman has been selected as the 2015-2016 Distinguished Educator for Woodlake Elementary.  Mrs. Aleman is a wonderful 4th grade teacher on our campus and will now go on to compete for the Trinity Prize later this spring.  Congratulations Mrs. Aleman!  We know that you will represent Woodlake well!

Four JSTEM Robotics teams recently competed in the FIRST LEGO League Alamo Qualifier at Wagner High School and 3 of the 4 teams placed with trophies...one JSTEM team won the contest overall.  The Nano Warriors placed first overall as well as being nominated for the Global Innovation Award. Team Robo-Royalty won the CORE Values Trophy and Team Mustache U2 picked up a trophy for their research... more info
