Rules and Expectations Rules Poem Our classroom rules are reviewed daily through a poem. We discuss what the different parts of the poem mean and the rules that they imply. We raise our hands to speak. Rule: Don't interrupt by talking during lessons or when an adult/peer is speaking. We work quietly at our seats. Rule: Work quietly so you don't disturb the people around you. Rule: Stay seated and raise your hand if you need permission to leave your seat. We use voices soft and sweet. Rule: Use an indoor voice at all times, save outdoors voices for recess! Rule: Use kind words and speak to others respectfully. We keep our places tidy and neat. Rule: Clean up any messes you make and put materials back where you found them. We are helpful, friendly and fair. Rule: Help others when you see that they need it. Rule: Treat others with respect. Keep your hands and mean words to yourself. Rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated (AKA "The Golden Rule"). We take turns and willingly share. Rule: Share ideas- we all have great thoughts that we can teach each other. Rule: Take turns using materials and equipment.
