Title I Reading
Mrs. Alverio Conference time: 11:15-12 Email: jalverio@judsonisd.org NATURE OF PROGRAM Title I Reading is designed to accelerate and assist capable students to attain grade-level proficiency. The instructional support services are provided by Mrs. Alverio in addition to the regular classroom language arts program. The Title I program does not replace the regular classroom instruction. Communication between the classroom teacher and Title I Teacher (Mrs. Alverio) takes place on a regular basis. If a student masters grade-level TEKS during the course of the year, he/she will be dismissed. CHARACTERISTICS OF AN IDENTIFIED TITLE I STUDENT MAY INCLUDE: - insufficient use of background knowledge and experience.
- insufficient knowledge of vocabulary experience.
- Insufficient syntactic knowledge.
- Insufficient comprehension skills.
- Insufficient reading strategies.
- Insufficient knowledge of conventions of print and text structure.
- Insufficient motivation and interest.
