nightly - 53rd Annual Windcrest Light Up
A tradition since the 1950s, San Antonio residents and visitors enjoy viewing the dazzling Christmas lights in the City of Windcrest annual Light Up. Thousands drive through the Windcrest streets in awe of the amazing Christmas light displays. A contest is held by the city to select the most beautifully decorated homes in various categories prior to their opening ceremony in mid-December. "The Saga"? @ San Fernando Cathedral
Come and see the wonderful works of French painter Xavier De Richemont at the San Fernando Cathedral in Downtown San Antonio this weekend. See his mystifying 24 minutes of video art projected on to the Cathedral that tells a story about Texas History. Admission is Free! So bring your blankets/chairs and cozy up and enjoy the spectacular view. Show times are Tuesday & Friday-Sunday 9:00pm, 9:30pm, & 10:00pm.
"Second Annual Swim with the Elves"
Who said you can't swim in the winter? Not San Antonio Parks & Recreation. Children 12 and under and their families are welcomed to the San Antonio Natatorium, 1430 W. Cesar Chavez, on Saturday Dec 20, from 1pm-3pm. There will be activities such as t-shirt relay race and water sleigh races; not to mention its in a heated pool! Participants are invited to play games, have their face painted and a photo with Santa and his elves. Admission is FREE!

Holiday on the Riverwalk (free, walking)
The San Antonio River Walk is home to a number of fantastic Christmas activities events throughout the month of December. Throughout the season, 1.8 million lights illuminate the River Walk. On various nights throughout the month, your whole family can enjoy Caroling Nights with Santa at the Arneson Theatre. These nights are tons of fun for kids and adults too. Santa floats down the river on a decorated barge while the carolers sing to everyone. If you are shopping for last minute Christmas gifts, don't miss the arts & crafts show on the River Walk as well. Light the Way at the University of the Incarnate Word (free, driving)
Santa's Ranch ($22 per car)
Just outside of San Antonio, you'll find one of the best drive-thru Christmas light parks in South Texas. Santa's Ranch features a mile of holiday scenes with over a million lights and over 100 displays and animations. If you have young kids, this light spectacular is definitely a must-see. Because you stay in the car, you don't have to worry about tracking down your little ones. Yet unlike many other light displays, you can actually see everything from your vehicle and won't be disappointed. Santa's Ranch is priced at $22 per car and if you think you are going to go back often, you can buy a season pass for $42.
